Today’s sandwiches were from Subway. I used to be intimidated by all the questions they ask at Subway, but I worked very hard to memorize all my responses so that I don’t get flustered. The answers are six inch, whole wheat, turkey and ham, yes please, provolone, all the vegetables except for hot peppers, honey mustard, no thanks, and yes, a meal.
Or should I say the answers were. They added a new question. Now, they want to know if I want it toasted. They asked it between “Provolone, American or pepper jack?” and “What vegetables would you like, miss?” So, momentarily, I was flustered. No, I don’t want it toasted. Toasting is known to improve sandwiches, but when I get a Subway sandwich I’m not looking for that kind of eating experience. I’m looking for something squishy that tastes like onions and honey mustard, something that I’m eating about 4 minutes after ordering.
It might be a while before I go back there.
